(Bqp.vn) - The 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange successfully concluded on the afternoon of October 23. Taking place on October 22 and 23 in Moc Chau district (Son La province, Vietnam) and Sop Bao district (Houaphanh province, Laos) with diverse activities, the exchange program has left a deep impression of friendship and solidarity between the troops and people of the two countries.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang, while the Lao delegation was headed by General Chansamone Chanyalath, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence.
The success of the event continued to affirm the effectiveness of this initiative in promoting substantive cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries, enhancing economic development, facilitating people-to-people exchange, and raising awareness of border protection among local authorities and residents in border areas, contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and development and strengthening the bilateral defence cooperation in an intensive and effective manner. It further conveyed a message of solidarity and mutual support, strengthened political trust, and laid a solid foundation for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the Vietnam - Laos relations.

On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, General Phan Van Giang respectfully thanked General Chansamone Chanyalath, the Lao delegation, along with the Lao government and people for their special affection, thoughtful and respectful welcome, leaving a good impression on the members of the delegation. He believed that the relationship between the two Parties, States, Armies and people of the two countries would become increasingly close, loyal, united, and friendly in the coming time.
