(Bqp.vn) - On May 27, in Hanoi, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong received General Ya Kim Y, Director of the Inspection Department under the Cambodian Ministry of Defense.

During the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong affirmed that Vietnam always values and continuously strengthens its good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive and sustainable cooperation with Cambodia. He emphasized the importance of educating and informing both the citizens and the military officers of the two countries, especially the young generation about the history, the solidarity and mutual support between the two nations and their armed forces throughout historical periods.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong noted that defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia has continued to develop substantively and effectively, serving as a key pillar of bilateral relations. Notable achievements included maintaining effective exchanges at various levels, dialogue mechanisms, consultations, and information sharing; training; border management and protection; cultural exchanges; promoting the friendly relationship between the two countries; searching for and repatriating the remains of fallen soldiers, and mutual support at multilateral forums.

For his part, General Ya Kim Y expressed gratitude for the material and spiritual support that Vietnam has provided to Cambodia both in the past and present. He also informed Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong about the outcomes of his previous working session with the Inspection Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong suggested that in the future, both sides should enhance meetings, exchanges, and sharing of professional experiences, specialized training, and mutual support to improve advisory capabilities for the leaders of the two defense ministries on inspection work. He affirmed that the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always supports and creates favorable conditions for the two inspection agencies to strengthen cooperation, contributing to further deepening bilateral defense cooperation in the time to come.
