(Bqp.vn) - On March 27, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh received Ukrainian Ambassador to Vietnam Gaman Oleksandr.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh affirmed that the Vietnamese People and Vietnam People’s Army always remember the valuable support and assistance that Ukraine gave to Vietnam in the struggle for national reunification. On the basis of that tradition, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always pays attention to and promotes bilateral defense cooperation in line with the comprehensive partnership and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine.
Regarding the defense cooperation between the two countries in recent times, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh said that the two sides have maintained a number of cooperation contents such as delegation exchanges and training. He suggested that in the coming time, the competent agencies of the two defense ministries should continue to study areas of cooperation that are suitable to the needs and capabilities of each side.
Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh believed that, in his position as Ambassador, Mr. Gaman Oleksandr would continue to contribute to promoting defense relations, in line with the traditional friendship, partnership and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Gaman Oleksandr thanked the host for the warm reception; congratulating the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on successfully organizing the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also sent defense enterprises to attend and displayed products at that event.
Ambassador Gaman Oleksandr hoped that the bilateral defense cooperation would be promoted in the time to come in accordance with the framework of the relationship between Vietnam and Ukraine, on the basis of equal cooperation and mutual benefit.
