Promoting cooperation in the legal field between Vietnam and Cambodia

(Bqp.vn) - On December 6, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Defense Minister hosted a reception for a delegation from the Legal Department of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, led by its director General Mam Sophat who was on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem emphasized that the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia has been growing strongly with great achievements in all fields and affirmed that Vietnam always attached importance to preserving and developing the sound traditional ties with Cambodia. He added that the visit would mark a stepping stone in the legal cooperation between the two armies.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to further cooperation, experience sharing and mutual support between the two legal departments in the coming time to help the two defense ministries improve the quality of the building of laws related to military and defense.

For his part, General Mam Sophat thanked Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem for the warm reception and informed the host of the outcomes of the talks with the Legal Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense. He also believed that the cooperation between the two legal departments would be enhanced strongly in the future.
