(Bqp.vn) - On March 16, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang received Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang congratulated Ambassador Sandeep Arya on receiving his working term in Vietnam; stressing that India and Vietnam have a good traditional friendship, which has been constantly cultivated and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, achieving many results in various fields of cooperation such as politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, culture, education, training, people-to-people exchanges. Vietnam always attaches great importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with India, he added.

The defense cooperation between Vietnam and India has been continuously promoted, achieved many substantive results over the past years, and at the same time is an important pillar in the relationship between the two countries. On the basis of the Joint Vision Statement on Defense Partnership to 2030, which was signed in June 2022, the two sides have implemented effective cooperation in the fields of dialogue, consultation, defense industry, UN peacekeeping, strategic research, etc. General Phan Van Giang suggested that Ambassador Sandeep Arya, in his new position, would actively promote the contents of the bilateral defense cooperation in the coming time. The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would create all favorable conditions for Ambassador Sandeep Arya to fulfill his tasks in Vietnam, he affirmed.

For his part, Ambassador Sandeep Arya thanked the host for the warm reception; saying that India always attaches importance to developing the comprehensive and substantive relation with Vietnam.
