Vietnam, Poland step up defence ties

(Bqp.vn) - Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hosted a reception in Hanoi on January 16 for Colonel Jaroslaw Bondalski, newly-appointed Polish Defence Attaché to Vietnam.

Congratulating Colonel Jaroslaw Bondalski on the appointment as the Polish Defense Attaché to Vietnam, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his belief that the officer would contribute to enhancing the traditional friendship between the two countries in general and defence cooperation in particular. The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence backs the promotion of the two countries’ defence cooperation in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral defence cooperation signed by the two defence ministries, he added.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also proposed both sides continue carrying out collaboration activities on the basis of the MoU, with focus on delegation exchanges, training, and defence industry.

For his part, Colonel Jaroslaw Bondalski thanked the host for the warm reception; affirming that Poland always attaches importance to its defence cooperation with Vietnam. He pledged that in his working time, he would try his best to further promote bilateral defence ties.
