Coordinating to cope with issues related to ASEAN people’s health

(Bqp.vn) - On the sidelines of ADMM Retreat, ASEAN Secretary -  General Lim Jock Hoi shared with the press some points related to the effort of epidemic responding of ASEAN countries to ensure people’s health and maintain the prosperous development of ASEAN.

According to ASEAN Secretary - General Lim Jock Hoi, under the management of Vietnam Ministry of National Defence, there were a number of issues which have been discussed openly within ADMM Retreat framework. ASEAN Secretary - General Lim Jock Hoi highly valued Vietnam’s preparation and organization for this event in Hanoi, and expected that other meetings this year would be well prepared, especially the ADMM+ in October.

Regarding to Joint Statement by the ASEAN Defence Ministers on defence cooperation against disease outbreaks, ASEAN Secretary - General Lim Jock Hoi recognized Vietnam’s proactive to cope with the epidemic and said that the Statement are very close to ASEAN 2020 theme which was chosen by Vietnam.

With all proposals of ASEAN member countries on organizing a manoeuvre to handle the epidemic in 2020, ASEAN Secretary - General Lim Jock Hoi said that all ministries, sectors, agencies of ASEAN countries including healthcare, defence, diplomacy, economic sectors… need to work together to ensure the ASEAN people’s health and maintain the prosperous development of ASEAN.
