At the reception, General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that the world and regional security environment are undergoing rapid, strong, and unpredictable changes. While non-traditional security challenges such as epidemics, climate change, natural disasters, and water security are increasingly emerging, traditional security issues are also evolving in a complex manner. These challenges go beyond the scope and control of an individual country, affecting the security situation of each country, the region, and the world. Therefore, it is necessary to have the cooperation of ASEAN member countries in general as well as the role of military intelligence/defense leaders of ASEAN countries in particular in timely response, ensuring a peaceful life for the people, he said.
