Undeniable values of Ho Chi Minh Thought

(Bqp.vn) - Ho Chi Minh thought is a “system of comprehensive and profound views on Vietnamese revolution’s basic issues, resulting from the flexible application and development of Marxism-Leninism into our concrete conditions, the inheritance and development of national traditional values, and the absorbing of human kind’s cultural quintessence”.

President Ho Chi Minh.

Right in 1920s, when President Ho Chi Minh found the sound way to save and develop our country in Marxism-Leninism, he held that “there are now various doctrines and ideologies, but Marxism-Leninism is the truest and most reliable”. It is because this is the outlook on the world and life, and the mainstream in the world’s system of progressive ideological currents. However, hostile forces try to deny and distort Marxism-Leninism all the times. They accused that President Ho Chi Minh and the Party was mistaken when selecting Marxism-Leninism as the theoretical foundation to develop Vietnam, particularly in the current condition. In fact, they are mistaken. The more they deny, the more Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought are honoured, brightened, and affirm their values. Theoretically and practically, Marxism-Leninism is the basic political theory, orienting the way to liberate the Vietnamese people; being the science of the most common rules about the development of nature, society, and human thinking, about the workers and labourers class struggle against injustice and feudal and imperialist yoke to build a new society- socialist society.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh accurately identified the development objective of the Vietnamese nation. The Vietnamese revolution’s objective was pointed out in the Party’s first platform: carrying out a human rights bourgeois revolution and land revolution to move forward a communist society. In other word, the objective of Vietnamese revolution is  to move towards communism of which the first period was national independence associated with socialism. That objective is the only sound one, matching the mainstream of the times.

Ho Chi Minh Thought clearly showed the path to realize the objective of national independence associated with socialism as follows: liberating the nation, society, and human to develop Vietnam in socialist orientation. Following the thought, from a colonial and feudal country, Vietnam became an independent, self-reliant one whose economy is stably developed, and humans are liberated, developing freely and comprehensively, coming to a wealthy and happy life. However, by old-fashioned arguments, hatred, and frenzied anti-communist acts, hostile forces, also known as the people claiming themselves “democrats”, often propagandize that following this path will lead Vietnam to a dead end; therefore, we need to abandon it “to opportunely follow the world’s current common path”- the capitalist one. How paranoid and ridiculous they are! In reality, our path has experienced countless challenges and was proved to be absolutely appropriate.

Ho Chi Minh Thought guided us the way to gather the great strength of the Vietnamese people. Aiming at national independence associated with socialism, Vietnamese revolution must have its force. That is the strength of the nationwide great solidarity regardless of belief, religion, ethnicity, poverty, richness, gender, region with workers-peasants-intellectuals alliance as the core factor. To gather force, the Communist Party of Vietnam - the party of workers class, labourers, and the whole country, must play a leading role. A pure and strong Communist Party of Vietnam is the decisive condition for the victory of Vietnamese revolution. Nowadays, hostile forces’ sabotage is aimed at the Communist Party of Vietnam as our Party is the leading force of political system and society. They try to seek ways to conduct the strategies of “peaceful evolution”, “self-evolution”, and “self-transformation”, and to deny the Article 4 in our 2013 Constitution. Publicly or covertly they try to make an internal division, breaking national great solidarity, separating the people from the Party and the State, provoking extreme nationalism to destabilize politics and society, deny the values of Ho Chi Minh Thought, including his belief of “Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity. Success, success, great success”.

Ho Chi Minh Thought presented a system of views on building a new society, Vietnamese culture and human with revolutionary ethical standards. A new society here is socialist society. In Ho Chi Minh Thought, typical features of socialism are: it has a highly developed production force attached to advancement in science, technique, and culture; its economic ground is public ownership of productive assets and work-based distribution rules; its political regime is mastered by the people, led by the Communist Party; its social relations are equal, together with a rich people, a strong nation, no exploitation and oppression, no differences between manual and intellectual works, rural and urban areas. It is a society in which human are completely liberated, comprehensively developed, and there is harmonious development of society and nature; being built by the people; having peaceful, equitable, friendly, and cooperative relations with other countries’ peoples for the sake of progress and development. Those features are a system of values with human as its development pivot.

Ho Chi Minh Thought and Marxism-Leninism is the ideological base and lodestar for the firm development of Vietnamese nation. However, some people would like to separate Ho Chi Minh Thought from Marxism-Leninism, or they try to criticize, distort it, and paint a black picture of his morality with a view to “knocking the idol down”, making people lose the faith in Ho Chi Minh’s sound thought. It is necessary to confirm that Ho Chi Minh Thought and Marxism-Leninism share a close relationship, being a perfect whole to provide the Communist Party of Vietnam with the ideological base and the pole star. Marxism-Leninism is the basis and root of Ho Chi Minh Thought. Without it, there is no Ho Chi Minh Thought. Thus, trying to separating Ho Chi Minh Thought from Marxism-Leninism is completely wrong both theoretically and practically. Some people believe that as for Vietnam, it only needs Ho Chi Minh Thought or Ho Chi Minh Thought is Marxism-Leninism in the country, both of which are wrongful views. President Ho Chi Minh creatively applied and developed Marxism-Leninism into Vietnam’s reality, but it does not mean that Vietnamese revolution needs Ho Chi Minh Thought only. This opinion seems to highly value Ho Chi Minh Thought, but in fact, it distorts and degrades his thought. The perfect whole to form the Vietnamese revolution’s ideology consists of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh  Thought which is undeniable.
