Lao People’s Revolutionary Party marks its 60th anniversary

(Bqp.vn) - The Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) held a ceremony in Vientiane capital city on March 21 to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary.

Addressing the ceremony, LPRP General Secretary and State President Choummaly Sayasone reviewed the party’s establishment and development over the past 60 years as well as highlighting the proud stages in the party’s history.

He went on to say that over the past 60 years the LPRP led the entire Party, army and people of Laos to fight for independence, and build and develop the country.

He called on the entire Party, people and army of Laos to strengthen solidarity and uphold patriotism while mobilising all resources, both domestic and international, to develop the country in a sustainable and effective manner.

The country aims to obtain an annual economic growth rate of 7-8% by 2020, he said.

He took the occasion to express his deep gratitude to fraternal countries and international friends for their valuable assistance to the LPRP and Lao people throughout the past 60 years.
