Vietnam, Malaysia promote security ties
(Bqp.vn) - Vietnam and Malaysia will strengthen cooperation in security, police and crime prevention.
The agreement was reached at talks between Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Dr.Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Hanoi on May 14.
They considered organising an annual deputy-ministerial level meeting between the two ministries to boost cooperation and exchange information about crime prevention, particularly non-traditional crime, international terrorism and cyber crime.
They agreed to protect citizens living, working and studing legally in each other’s territories, prevent violation of laws.
Vietnam and Malaysia will negotiate and sign an agreement on criminal extradition and another agreement on handing over prisoners, they said.
