ActionsExhibition on the VPA kick-started
(Bqp.vn) - The Vietnam Museum of Military History on December 16th opened an exhibition, “The Heroic Army-Victorious Tradition”, in Hanoi, in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and 25th anniversary of Whole People’s Defence Festive Day. The opening ceremony was attended by General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence.

On display are 300 photos, documents and exhibits briefing the 70-year establishment, combat and development process of the Vietnam People’s Army. Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese troops and people had expelled French and American invaders from the country, bringing freedom and independence to the nation.

Besides, the event introduces a large collection of noble awards conferred by the Party and State on VPA in acknowledgement of its great contributions over the past 70 years; President Ho Chi Minh’s decree on the VPA establishment in May, 1945; the bamboo hat of hero Tran Can who had hoisted the flag on the Him Lam entrenched fortification in the battle opening the Dien Bien Phu Campaign; the padded waistcoat that heroic soldier Cu Chinh Lan worn in the Giang Mo battle in December 1951.
These displayed items highlighting the victorious tradition, good virtues and feats of arms of the VPA are to arouse people’s patriotism and pride of the Vietnamese heroic army as well as raise their responsibilities for building revolutionary, regular, elite and increasingly modern army.
