ActionsAgencies agree to make joint efforts on environmental protection
(VDP) - The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Commission for Communications and Education; Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment have pledged to co-ordinate political tasks on natural resources and the environment from 2013-2016.

Addressing the October 29 signing ceremony, Politburo member and Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Dinh The Huynh, who heads up the Commission, insisted that the co-operation focus on raising awareness of environmental issues, creating consensus and compelling action among officials and the people.
Collaboration between the two should tap the power of the whole political system to achieve reasonable resource usage, environmental protection measures and a unified response to climate change, he said.
Politburo member Huynh asked for closer co-ordination between the two agencies on publicising and popularising Party and State guidelines and policies on resources and the environment pertaining to land management, measurements and mapping, water resources, geology and minerals, hydrometeorology, climate change and sea and island management.
He also stressed the importance of proactive implementation of the co-operative programme aiming to discover pressing issues and conflicts regarding natural resource management, utilisation and protection, and to create timely solutions.
