ActionsSong Thu Corporation asked to continue transferring technology
(Bqp.vn) - Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, requested Song Thu Corporation to keep transferring technology proactively and boost effective cooperation with domestic and international partners.
The request was made on August 9th at his inspection at the corporation, which is under the General Department of Defence Industry.
Before working with the corporation’s directorate, General Ty inspected operations of the 3,000-ton Syncrolift lifting deck and the new shipbuilding workshop.
As Senior Colonel Ha Son Hai, the corporation’s Director General reported, the corporation has become the leading shipyard with last year’s turnover of more than VND 1.5 trillion, contributing nearly VND 100 billion to the State budget. Despite facing hardship, the unit has sought and completed various domestic and international orders. It has built 22 ships of different types for domestic customers and exported 24 other ships.
Hailing the unit’s efforts to maintain a high growth rate, improve labourers’ living standard, and produce competitive exports, General Ty asked the unit to bring into play their accomplishments, focus on improving human resources and personnel’s expertise to meet missions in the new context.
General Ty also requested it to study harder to manufacture specialized products, grow sustainably, combine closely economy with defence to accomplish its missions and to become a key shipyard and service provider of the Vietnam shipbuilding sector.
