ActionsPM requests heightened natural disaster response capacity
(Bqp.vn) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said that ministries, sectors and localities should improve forecasting of natural disaster, build their capacity to cope with the impacts of climate change, as well as mobilise social resources for projects related to coastal protection forests.
At the meeting (VNA).
The leader made the call whilst chairing the fourth meeting of the National Committee on Climate Change on February 19, organised to evaluate the committee’s implementation of 2013 tasks and to plan for 2014.
The PM asked ministries, sectors and localities to continue to update, supplement and finalise mechanisms related to climate change response, as well as devise strategies to cope with a range of climate change scenarios.
Along with investment from the State, it was necessary to mobilise social resources and international co-operation so as to deal with climate change, rising sea levels, and to protect the environment in order to mitigate further impacts, PM Dung said.
