President hails efforts of female entrepreneurs

(Bqp.vn) - President Truong Tan Sang has commended the efforts of female entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses and contributing to national development, despite the great challenges posed by the domestic and global economic downturn.

He made the statement on February 28 in Hanoi while meeting 100 outstanding businesswomen who won the Yellow Rose Cup hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

He praised the VCCI’s organisation of the event, which aimed to honour outstanding faces that fuel the nation’s economic development, industrialisation and modernisation, encouraging and recognising the endeavours of female entrepreneurs.

President Sang said he hopes that such occasions would become a chance for the participants to share their experience and voice their initiatives and proposals for more suitable policies to the Party and State.

During the meeting, held on the occasion of the upcoming International Women’s Day (March 8), the President was also briefed the operational outcomes of the Female Entrepreneur Council under the VCCI, as well as the success of businesswomen in the context of a difficult economic situation.
