(Bqp.vn) - The Staff Force of the Ministry of Public Security and Dien Bien province held a ceremony on April 30 to present a statue of General Vo Nguyen Giap to the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum in Dien Bien province.

The bronze portrait statue, measuring 83 centimetres high and weighing 115kg, is solemnly situated in the commemorative room of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum.
Along with the statue, the commemorative room is also displaying photos of 26 heroes of the People's Armed Forces, five major columns and the youth volunteers who transported supplies to the battlefield.
The statue was staged to show gratitude to the great contributions made by General Vo Nguyen Giap to the Vietnamese revolution, particularly the Dien Bien Phu victory. It also contributes to educating Vietnamese people, especially younger generations, about the morals and talents of the general.
The event is part of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954).
