Nearly 4,000 performers light up Carnaval Ha Long 2014

(Bqp.vn) - The annual Carnaval Ha Long opened in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on April 30 with the participation of thousands of domestic professional and amateur actors, singers and dancers and four international art troupes.

This year's event included two parts: artistic performances on stage and dynamic live street performances.

Under the theme ‘Impressive Ha Long’, the performances on stage lasted for 45 minutes and attracted local singers and nearly 300 dancers, models and artists from the Republic of Korea, China, Laos and Thailand.

The highlight of the Carnaval night was a street display of more than 3,800 performers from localities of Quang Ninh province.

The Carnaval is a major activity of Ha Long - Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014 which aims to attract tourists to the world heritage site at Ha Long Bay and other unique cultural heritages in Quang Ninh province.

Unlike previous Carnavals, the expenditure for this year's event was raised from private sources and not the provincial budget.
