(Bqp.vn) - A number of activities have been held in Hanoi to mark the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation (October 10, 1954 -2014).

A symposium entitled 'The 60th Anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation - Achievements, Opportunities, Challenges and Development' was organised in Hanoi on October 3 by the Hanoi Party Committee, the Hanoi Municipal People's Council, and the People's Committee.
Over 60 photos featuring different aspects of the beauty of Hanoi are on display at an exhibition entitled 'Dear Hanoi', which opened at Ly Thai To square yesterday.
The exhibition, held by the Hanoi Urban Planning and Development Association, is scheduled to run until October 10.
The same day, the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee officially opened six new walking streets including Hang Buom, Ma May, Hang Giay, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Ta Hien, and Dao Duy Tu in an effort to bring the cultural values of Hanoi’s Old Quarter into play.
According to the district's authorities, the decision to opening six more walking streets is expected to create more favorable conditions for artisans, businesses, and households to develop traditional cuisine, and other services for trade and tourism.
The final round of a singing contest about Hanoi was held at the Friendship and Cultural Palace on October 2 by the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The first prize for the best singer went to Nguyen Tien Hung while Le Tam won the first prize for 'Best Song about Hanoi'.
The competition attracted the particiaption of more than 450 contestants.
