Preparations inspected carefully for ASEAN defence meetings

(Bqp.vn) - On November 20 in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Defence Minister chaired a working session to inspect the preparations for external defence activities in 2020, especially the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM+.

After listening to related agencies to report on the preparations for the events, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien asked them to urgently complete projects and submit them to leaders of the Ministry of National Defence for approval.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that the ADMM, ADMM+ and 10th Anniversary of ADMM+ were important events in promoting defence cooperation among ASEAN countries in Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020. He asked the relevant agencies to continue coordinating closely in implementing tasks in order to organize the events safely, effectively and substantially. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also requested press agencies to do well in propaganda, making important contribution to the overall success of the meetings.

On the same day, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien directly inspected a number of places, security, safety and the preparations for other external defence activities from now to the end of this year.
